Practice overview
Gail is an experienced all-round family law practitioner who regularly undertakes a range of complex matters including financial matters involving pensions, properties and trusts.

In addition, Gail also has expertise in public law and private law children cases and regularly represents parents, children’s guardians and the Official Solicitor. Gail also undertakes Court of Protection work and appears before the Coroner’s Court. Gail is a former solicitor with Higher Rights, and has specialised in family law since 2001. She was awarded Direct Access Family Barrister 2015 in the Acquisition International Legal Awards.

Professional background

Gail started her legal career in 1992 as a trainee legal executive for a large Hull firm of solicitors, gaining experience in a wide variety of civil law disputes. She qualified as a legal executive in 1997, before becoming a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives in 1999. 

In 2004, Gail qualified as a solicitor and subsequently obtained Higher Rights (all issues) in 2006. She has practised predominantly in Hull and East Yorkshire, specialising in family law since 2001. Gail was admitted to the Law Society Children Panel before transferring to the Bar in 2011.

Since joining the bar, Gail has continued to develop her experience in a wide range of complex family law cases.

Hobbies and interests
In her spare time, Gail is a keen cyclist.  She also enjoys cooking and plays the cello for a local amateur orchestra.
