Joanna Hawkett joined Chambers in 2018 after successful completion of her pupillage with Naomi M Madderson. She accepts instructions in Criminal, Family and Civil law.
Joanna is a Crown Prosecution Service Grade 1 Prosecutor. She is regularly instructed by the Crown Prosecution Service to appear in both the Magistrates’ and Crown Court. She also accepts instructions to act on behalf of the Defence. She has appeared on behalf of the Police and the National Probation Service.
Joanna accepts instructions in all areas of public and private family law proceedings, including financial remedy. She acts on behalf of local authorities, parents and family members in a range of cases within the Family Proceedings Court and County Court.
Joanna regularly appears in private law cases acting for parents and grandparents in matters involving disputes over contact and living arrangements for children. Most notably, she was led by Naomi M Madderson, acting as Junior Counsel, in a 3 week contact dispute. Joanna also has experience of injunction applications such as non-molestation and occupation orders.
Joanna is available to accept instructions in a range of Civil matters including small claims hearings, infant settlements and contractual disputes.
