Sarah has practised at Wilberforce Chambers since the successful completion of her pupillage with David Tremberg (now His Honour Judge Tremberg) in 2001.
Sarah practises in both Family and Criminal Law.
Sarah appears in the Family Proceedings Court, County Court, High Court and Court of Appeal in both Public and Private Law cases. She represents the interests of Local Authorities in the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire areas as well as parents, grandparents, intervenors and children at all stages of proceedings.
Sarah undertakes Domestic Abuse and injunction work from the ex parte application stage through to committal proceedings.
Sarah is regularly instructed in family cases with an international element including removal from the jurisdiction, Hague Convention, conflict of jurisdiction and Article 15 of Council Regulation (EC) No 2201/2003 (Brussels IIA).
Sarah regularly appears in the county court in respect of family finance cases.
Sarah has a keen interest in Court of Protection and Mental Health work.
Sarah undertakes a range of work in the Crown Court and is instructed in serious matters such as false imprisonment, sexual offences, robbery and kidnapping.
Sarah has successfully defended a number of youths in respect of sexual offences.
Sarah has been regularly instructed by the Crown Prosecution Service to prosecute in a wide range of matters including criminal damage on Ministry of Defence property, killing great crested newts and destroying their habitat (both of which she received letters of commendation for), violent and sexual offences and dishonesty offences.
