Humberside Police Night Challenge 2016 took place on Saturday 5th March 2016. This year, one hundred and fifty participants, aged 13-17, from our region walked 14 miles across the East Yorkshire countryside in very wet and muddy conditions. The Challenge takes place throughout the night into the following morning.

Along the way challenges designed to educate the young people on the dangers of drink-driving are completed.

Following on from last year's Challenge, Wilberforce Barristers Chambers joined forces again with many partnership agencies including Humberside Fire and Rescue Service, HMP Humber, HM Coastguard, Humberside and Lincolnshire Orienteering.

Charlotte Baines and Cathrine Kioko-Gilligan from Wilberforce Barristers Chambers volunteered, providing a challenge centred around a sentencing exercise in the Crown Court.  Teams had an interactive role to play in terms of choosing what sentence they thought was appropriate.

The Night Challenge 2016 was yet again a great success.  Wilberforce Barristers Chambers would like to congratulate all the participants and volunteers who took part this year and look forward to being involved again in the future.
