Jury trials have recommenced in Hull

Last week the first jury trial since the COVID-19 lockdown period began, took place at Hull Crown Court.

The trial was conducted in Court 1 with adherence to social distancing measures and was presided over by our Resident Judge, HHJ John Thackray QC, a former member of Wilberforce Barristers. Charlotte Baines, Criminal Team Leader, was defending.

The trial commenced on Tuesday 23rd June and concluded on Thursday 26th June. Charlotte secured an acquittal for the Defendant, a man of good character, facing an allegation of assault.

Charlotte is appearing as Defence Counsel once again, in the second trial to take place at Hull which is due to start tomorrow.
