Michael Masson joined Chambers in 2017 after successful completion of his pupillage and accepts instructions in Criminal, Family and Civil law.
Professional Reputation
Criminal Law
Michael is regularly instructed by the prosecution and defence appearing in both the Magistrates Court and the Crown Court.
He has received instructions in cases involving violence (including domestic violence), possession and supply of drugs, public disorder and dishonesty offences, including burglary and fraud.
Family Law
Michael receives instructions in all areas of public and private family law proceedings. He acts on behalf of local authorities and parents in public law cases. Michael has experience in cases involving violence and neglect.
Michael regularly appears in private law cases acting for parents and grandparents in matters involving disputes over contact and living arrangements for children. He has also dealt with injunction applications including Non-Molestation Orders as well as applications for Prohibited Steps Orders and Occupation Orders.
Civil Law
Michael is often instructed in small claims and fast-track cases involving road traffic collisions, personal injury and contractual disputes. He has also some experience of the law surrounding Taxi Licensing.
Prior to commencing pupillage Michael worked in a local solicitors’ practice and developed substantial experience in the law surrounding Leasehold disputes and the recoverability of Service Charges and Estate Charges.
