Success in worldwide freezing injunction including cryptocurrency.

11 August 2025

Benjamin Rose has been successful in obtaining and extending a worldwide freezing injunction under s.37(2) Matrimonial Causes Act 1973. The initial injunction covered banks and four known crypto trading platforms. This was subsequently extended on the return hearing to include two further crypto assets and trading accounts.

The respondent had used multiple names and accounts in various jurisdictions to attempt to move monies out of the country.

Benjamin was able to persuade the court not only to grant a third-party disclosure order against the banks and crypto platforms, but to award costs against the respondent.

Benjamin Rose is available to advise and represent parties in Financial Remedy proceedings, is a nominated judge of the Financial Remedies Court, and has published in the field.

Benjamin was instructed by Nicola Casey of Hetts Solicitors.
